All the Aussies out there in blogland will know exactly what I am talking about when I say "The Race That Stops A Nation", for that's exactly what happens on the first Tuesday in November every year, when the Melbourne Cup is run. In offices, pubs, clubs and schools, the entire nation stops what they are doing to watch the 3200m horse race, and the lucky people in the city of Melbourne even get the day off!
Many people take it all very seriously, with substantial amounts of money being bet on the famous race. Others (myself included) love it as an excuse to drink champagne, have a little flutter with a mystery trifecta or an office 'sweep', and to dress up. Dressing up is such a part of the races that prizes are given out to the best dressed men and women for "Fashion on the Field", and that's why this fortnight's challenge theme is:
HATS OR FLOWERS
Now the DT and I are very excited to share some news with you. Here at The Squirrel and The Fox we have our very first sponsor joining us - Make It Crafty. The hat on my little guy isn't near as fancy as those gorgeous images, but mine is a hat nonetheless :) The DT did an amazing job!
